How To Keep In Touch With Fans During These Difficult Times
The increased effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 has meant the cancellations of many concerts and festivals in recent weeks.
As fans of live music, all of us at Bandsintown bear a special responsibility to support artists during this challenging period. So we are working night and day on new features to both help you weather this storm and thrive when it's over. But in the meantime, we encourage you to update your tour dates and to use our free VIP Features - available to all artists during this phase - to keep fans informed about cancelled and postponed events.
You can message your fans about buying merch, streaming music, or just to tell them you’re thinking about them and can’t wait to get back on stage.
To get started, login to your account, go to the ‘Home’ or ‘Post’ sections and start typing your message.
You can also filter your followers; choose to either message fans by location or those who have RSVPed to past events. This will allow you to communicate about the status of your shows to specific audiences. You can also choose the timing of your announcements by scheduling posts for a specific date/time. Here’s how to do it.
When your events have been cancelled or postponed, we also encourage you to use the current events fields to let your fans know right away of any changes.
Here are some suggestions:
1. You can use the ‘Event Name’ field to notify about cancellations or shows that have been postponed.
2. The ‘Description’ field can be used to give your fans more details about the situation.
3. You can also upload a photo that displays the event status, so your followers will easily visualize any changes.
