Bandsintown tools for WordPress

Bandsintown offers four different tools to promote your events, build your Bandsintown following and grow your fan contacts through WordPress. Learn more about each below.

  1. The Bandsintown Plugin for WordPress is the easiest way to add tour dates to your site in a few clicks.

  2. The Advanced Events Widget is an event listing with a fully customizable text, look and feel to match your style

  3. The Follow Button a simple call to action button allowing site visitors to follow you on Bandsintown without leaving your site

  4. The Signup Form is an embedded email signup form to allow fans to join your Bandsintown mailing list without leaving your site


Display upcoming live shows on your website with the Bandsintown Plugin for WordPress

Install the dedicated Events Widget for WordPress to let your fans know when you're performing next and get info and tickets without leaving your site.

From your WordPress dashboard, click Plugins and then Add New at the top of the page.

Search for Bandsintown Events and click Install Now.

After the plugin is installed, click Activate.

From the left-hand menu, click Dashboard and then Customize Your Site.

Click Widgets from the left-hand menu.

Depending on your website’s template, you’ll have a couple of options as to where to install the widget.

Once you’ve chosen where the widget will be installed, select the Bandsintown Events widget.

Enter the artist name as displayed on Bandsintown, a title (e.g. Tour Dates) and display a limit of events that should be shown (or leave it blank to show all events). Tap Done.

Your events and ticket links will now be displayed on your WordPress site and stay in sync automatically.

Use our builder to customize your Widget with no coding required, copy your embed code, and add it to your website.

The Events Widget is compatible with all website builders that support HTML editing, including WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify and more.

Step 1: Create your custom Widget

Use the default install settings to have the Widget automatically match your website's color scheme, or dig deeper to customize fonts, colors, content, and more.

Step 2: Copy your Widget code

Once you’ve finished customizing your Widget, click Copy Code to copy the embed code to your clipboard.

Step 3: Paste your code into your WordPress page

For users using Wordpress.com with a Business or eCommerce plan:

  1. From your WordPress account, visit All My Sites and select your website

  2. Click Visit Site

  3. Click Edit Site

  4. Find a space where you want to insert your widget, then click + (Add Block)

  5. Select Layout Grid

  6. Select Three columns

  7. Click Change alignment

  8. Select Full width

  9. Adjust the width of the columns to make the central column bigger than the other two

  10. Select the middle column and add a new block

  11. Select Custom HTML

  12. Past your Widget Code in the HTML space

  13. Click Preview to see the widget

  14. Click Save

Your events, info and ticket links are now listed on your WordPress and will sync in real-time with your listings on Bandsintown.

PLEASE NOTE: The Advanced Widget is supported on WordPress, but with some exceptions. This is because WordPress limits the cases where users can run their own code. The Widget will work on the WordPress CMS and WordPress.com (Business or eCommerce plan only). For users using If you use Wordpress.com with a Personal or Premium plan, the code will not be executed by WordPress. These users can use our legacy WordPress plugin (more info here) or point to our new Smart Link.


Grow your Bandsintown following and contact list with the Follow Button

Build your Follow button URL, then add the URL to a new button on your WordPress page.

Step 1: Build your Follow button URL

Start with this template:

Next, replace certain elements of the URL with your personal details:

  1. Replace “2619661” with your own Bandsintown artist ID

    1. Your artist ID can be found by viewing your Bandsintown page in your browser and taking note of the unique number in the URL

  2. Replace “{yourappid}” with “wordpress-” followed by your artist name, with hyphens for spaces. For example “wordpress-Justin-Bieber”

  3. Replace “{your_affiliation_code}” with the affiliation code you already use to call the Bandsintown API, or remove the “&affil_code={your_affiliation_code}” parameter altogether if you don’t already have one

  4. Optionally, you can customize the URL further using these parameters as examples

    1. &bg-color=%231A1A1A

    2. &border-color=%23FFFFFF

    3. &cta-bg-color=%23FFFFFF

    4. &cta-border-color=%23FFFFFF

    5. &cta-border-radius=0px

    6. &cta-border-width=3px

    7. &cta-text-color=%23FFFFFF

    8. &font=Helvetica%20Neue

    9. &text-color=%23FFFFFF

Step 2: Add your URL to a WordPress button

Once your URL is ready, create a new WordPress button and attach your URL to it.

  1. Click on + Add block

  2. Search for the object Button

  3. Select the Button

  4. Modify the text on the Button label, for example, “Follow“

  5. Click on the button Link

  6. Paste the URL you create on step 1.

  7. Save the changes and Publish your Page

When clicked, your button should open the Fan Acquisition Form.


Grow your contact list with the embedded Signup Form

Use the Signup Form builder to customize your form, then copy your embed code and add it to your website.

Step 1: Customize your Signup Form

Adjust the background color, layout, alignment, title, header text, font and text style to your liking.

Step 2: Copy your embed code

Once you’ve finished customizing your Signup Form, click Copy Code to add it to your clipboard.

Step 3: Paste your embed code into your WordPress page

For users with a Wordpress.com Business or eCommerce plan:

  1. Find a space where you want to insert your Signup Form, then click + (Add Block)

  2. Select Custom HTML

  3. Paste your Signup Form code in the HTML space

  4. Click Save

Site visitors can now easily subscribe to your contact list.

PLEASE NOTE: The Email Signup Form is supported on WordPress, but with some exceptions. This is because WordPress limits the cases where users can run their own code. The Form will work on the WordPress CMS and WordPress.com (Business or eCommerce plan only). For users using If you use Wordpress.com with a Personal or Premium plan, the code will not be executed by WordPress.
